Who We Are

Our mission at DTAC is to serve children, adolescents, and their families in a stable and safe environment where one’s potential, personal strengths, and relationships are the basis for life long change and self-sufficiency.

We believe that children and adolescents with emotional and/or behavioral impairments are most effectively served in a highly structured family-type environment as opposed to an institutional setting. DTAC’s philosophy is that individualized attention from caring and trained staff, positive peer influences, and family support and education are powerful agents of change for youth who are committed to completing the DTAC programs and regaining control of their lives.

DTAC’s vision is to be the premier provider and leading innovator of child and adolescent mental health treatment through assessing community needs, allowing us to grow and evolve with the changing demands of the individuals we serve. Through integrity, kindness, empowerment, and respect, we are changing the lives of individuals in our community.

Who We Serve

DTAC provides services for children and adolescents at risk and with mental health issues, including those involved in the behavioral health, child welfare or juvenile justice systems. Across a variety of residential and outpatient treatment programs, our clients include children and adolescents from ages 3-21. Providing a range of services and programs allows DTAC to serve more youth in our communities and across Pennsylvania and Delaware.

According to the World Health Organization, mental health issues affect nearly one in six adolescents. Risk factors like past trauma or poverty can impact a child’s mental health. Without treatment, mental health issues and emotional disorders can continue into adulthood. However, targeted treatment like our residential and outpatient treatment programs can help children and adolescents grow up to become productive, responsible individuals.
